dj t

allez-allez mix - by dj t (91.50mb, 99:52mins)
[right click here to save]

dj t, aka thomas koch, has one of those cv that makes you weep when you read it. a vital part of the house and techno for nearly a quarter of a century, he the renaissance man to end all renaissance men.

in his forty years on the planet he has djed since the early days of the house explosion, opened frankfurt's legendary monza club, founded the still vital groove magazine and help start one of the biggest label of the past five years, get physical.

not content with all that in the past decade he has released countless heavy hitting tracks for marine parade, kindisch, 20:20 vision and of course get physical. 2007's 'the dawn' in particular was a staple in many an allez-allez set and his debut album 'boogie playground' took in funk, electro, disco and italo long before they became the sounds du jour.

he has now returned with a second long player 'the inner jukebox' where he applies a detroit and elecro slant to his sound. you can pick the album up at the get physical shop here.

t has kindly put his dj hat on for us to celebrate the release and come up with this epic mix filled with deep house goodness. we're incredibly pleased and honoured to offer it up to you.

animalZOO released his debut album of colourful electronica databird last november on *back home records. now, his self-described 'livingroom rave' continues with the 'lily's street' ep. released last week the ep comes backed with remixes by davis & may and our own good selves allez-allez. being the bashful types we'll let mr zoo describe the release.

"allez-allez gets the track to the floor and created a beautiful happy atmosphere with cracking acid tones. davis & may gave the track a more instrumental influence.. lovely EP"

lovely indeed. you can get the ep now from the beatport.

to celebrate the release animalZOO has put together this corking selection chock full of his own productions along with other classics and curios. it is surely the first time the dulcet tones of chris martin have been heard in the allez-allez universe. enjoy.

rone

wanted rabbit mix - by rone (80.80mb, 58:51mins)
[right click here to save]

rone, young parisian erwan castex, first made our ears prick up back in early 2008 with the release of his 'bora' ep on infine. beautiful techno that hits that melanconic vein that we fall for again and again it made last years dull summer a little brighter.

this year he came back with a long player that stetches that same feeling out over a beautiful flowing forty or so minutes. spanish breakfast came out earlier this year and has picked up good notice from resident advisor and idj to name a couple and rightly so. you can sample the delights of the title track on this video made by erwan's good friend, short film director vladimir mavounia-kouka. rone has now returned with a new ep, 'la dame blanche', thats aims more directly for the dancefloor that can be found here.

and now enjoy this lovely mix where for an hour rone "chases for the white rabbit crossing the ways of strange indie animals, electro zombies, lunar dogs… and lords of the dancefloors." indeed.

ada

influences mix - by ada (55.60mb, 40:28mins)
[right click here to save]

ada's debut single “blindhouse” (areal 10) got us all hot under the collar when it was released way back in 2002 - an exquisite blend of woozy pads and hypnotic bass licks ( as heard on triple r's doubly recommended mix cd 'friends'. her debut album 'blondie' was no less awesome, and in recent times, singles / remixes and indeed her own imprint IRR (home of AA fave dj koze's killer 'i want to sleep' 12") have given us even more reason to cherish her impeccable, chunky, emotive, analogue techno.

her latest foray is a mixtape cum / semi greatest hits entitled 'adaptations', taking in some of her finest original tracks, remixes and rerubs of her own stuff, including michael mayer & tobias thomas's spangly euphoric take on her yeah yeah yeahs cover of 'maps'. following last week's awesome exercise one exclusive mix for us, we're honoured now to have a mix from the great lady also. truly taking our concept of skirting the well trodden boompity boom that lines vast swathes of the bloggosphere to her chest and running for the hills, we're thrilled to see tracks from radiohead, bjork, boards of canada, busta rhymes and yes luscious jackson (! - an allez-allez first for them) amongst her many choice selections. anyway, get to downloading, and do be sure to go out and support on the 8th of june when the cd's released!

plaid - ralome
boards of canada - sixtyten/turquoise hexagon sun
the sundays - skin & bones
stereolab - super-electric
luscious jackson - parade/faith
radiohead - fitter happier
björk - 5 years
dj koze aka adolf noise - scene de la vie de rauf denktasch
busta rhymes feat. janet jackson - what's it gonna be
daft punk - funk ad
mr. fingers aka larry heard - can u feel it
everything but the girl - each and every one

if you haven't got your tickets yet for next fridays we fear silence/eat your own ears/greco roman extravaganza then we'd suggest you did it soon. the boys have knocked together a breaktaking line up for the arches down in london brigde taking in junior boys (live), shackleton (live), circlesquare (live), pantha du prince, caribou, joe goddard (hot chip), ross allen, kieran hebden, totally enormous extinct dinosaurs and allez-allez. as we say, breathtaking. full events details here. get your tickets here.

exercise one, the berlin duo of marco freivogel and ingo gansera, have rapidly positioned themselves as leading lights in the german capital's ever burgeoning techno scene. meeting early in the decade whilst working at k7 records they began working together in a basement studio in kreuzberg which quickly lead to their first release 'roll with you' appearing on mofa schallplatten.

from their they have spread their wings wide through remixes for shackleton and lee burridge and furthur releases on mobilee and num records. not content with that in 2005 they launched their own label lan muzic which has put out releases from themselves, peter van hoesen and our old friend phillip sherburne.

their debut album 'in cars we trust' is about to drop on mobilee and showcases the spirit of improvisation that drives their live sets. it has been preceeded by their 'no news today' ep whose stand out cut 'it is happening again' has been driving dancefloors crazy at recent allez-allez outings. go here to pick them both up and enjoy this brilliant mix which gives you a good idea of where they are calling from.
